Treat Rosacea for your Skin

By Alistair Nole

Acne rosacea is a chronic and at times progressive facial disorder that afflicts 45 million people all over the world. Symptoms from this include permanent redness and swelling, very sensitive skin, and bloodshot eyes. Those from north-western European descent have been known to be particularly affected by this, and some in Ireland dubbed it "The curse of the Celts".

Rosacea can do similar things as melasma, and create darker patches on the face. The marks are more red with rosacea, that is the main distinction. It's natural for people's faces to turn red from time to time. Natural causes include a spike in adrenaline levels. When spicier food is consumed, arteries can be dilated and this can be a cause. When one has rosacea, the redness will be more pronounced and prominent.

Doctors rule out bacterial infection as a cause for rosacea. Genetic traits may point to a group of people who tend to blush more easily than others. The condition can be aggravated by certain factors such as consumption of alcohol, which is also known to make your face red. Dermatologists note that rosacea often shows up with people at around the age of thirty.

Prominent blood vessels on the face, red cheeks and pimples and other bumps, and puffy skin in the nose area are common symptoms of rosacea.

Rosacea can be treated using lasers, which work well for many kinds of skin disorders. A topical solution is often first recommended by dermatologists for those who rosacea affects. For instance, skin creams can get rid of the abnormal redness through conventional antibiotics like tetracycline and minocin. This works for both light and moderate cases of rosacea. Depending on the severity of the situation, a dermatologist could prescribe oral antibiotics when the issue warrants it.

Putting on more makeup is usually the first thing rosacea sufferers do to cover their face. The fact about this is that the issue will be made worse by using too much makeup. Do not use makeup for this reason, be sure to only use it when it is for an important engagement, and don't use much. Otherwise, stay away from it. Using a mild facial cleaner is a good idea when someone has symptoms from rosacea. Cleanliness will make the chances that rosacea will worsen to be much less. Natural cleansers are the obvious choice, free of major chemicals and unnatural compounds. Skin can be damaged by some more serious kinds of elements that are contained in some solutions.

Rosacea can occur in adults of any ethnicity, and adversely affects patients' quality of life. Depending on the certain kind of rosacea that a person is suffering from, a suitable treatment can be devised that will be most beneficial to a patient. In order to lessen the effects of rosacea, using a natural skin product is a wise idea. However, like any medical condition, it's always best to consult the specialists. There are plenty of dermatologists who are well respected and knowledgeable that can help treat rosacea, melasma and any other skin conditions, that will improve the lives of patients.
